Nouns, Dot Day, Guided Math Stations, and Accountability Partners

We went on a scavenger hunt around the classroom for nouns.
We learned that nouns are people, places, or things.
In this activity, we took pictures of nouns and created a Pic Collage where we labeled the nouns.
We also explained what a nouns is to our families on Seesaw.

We celebrated Dot Day!
We learned to be brave, be creative, and to leave our mark in this world.

We learned about the symbols <, =, and >.
The equal sign means that what is on the left of the equal sign is "the same as" what is on the right of the equal sign.
We also learned about the less than and greater than symbol.
The crocodile/alligator wants to eat the most food so it opens its mouth to the larger number.

We worked in teams to create our own TRUE equations using the equal sign and greater/less than symbols.

We have been working so hard on retelling a story including key details.
Today we read a book from our bucket and worked on recalling what happened in the beginning, middle, and end. We shared our learning on Seesaw.

After indoor recess, some students share their story creation with the class!

We worked on creating equations with cuisenaire rods.
After creating, writing, and solving the equation, we posted our Pic Collages on Seesaw.

We have been busy working on our Freckle paths.

We love solving math challenges on Prodigy.

We played the "Decade Game" where students had to flip over a card with a 9 in the one's place and determine what number comes after (ex. 79...80, 119...120).
When we became experts with what comes next, we began by picking a number with a 0 in the one's place and determining what number comes before.

This is a game that you can play at home or in the car!

Today we met for the first time with our accountability partners to share one of our classroom goals.
