This week we explored a new math app called Prodigy.
In this app, students are working on specific math standards that we
are learning in class.
This week we are working on understanding addition and subtraction as counting
on and counting back (1.OA.5).
We also love making our classroom transform by moving tables around.
Ask your child about the hightops, lowriders, pillow headquarters, and the living room!
We are working on fluency by buddy reading a reader's theatre!
As we practice over and over, we become more fluent, read with more expression, and even get our
theatre skills in action!
In Scholastic News this week, we learned how to identify emotions by looking at facial expressions and the body. We had to determine the emotion in the picture and then take turns sharing when we had that emotion. It was a great opportunity to practice our speaking and listening skills!
We mixed up the entire first grade on Wednesday for Buddy Reading!
It is always great to meet someone new and reconnect with our old friends from kindergarten!
We know that good readers DO something after they read.
In this activity, we shared what we read during our independent reading time with
our families on Seesaw.
Is everyone at home connected on Seesaw?
If you need to get a parent (or grandparent) involved, please let me know!
Ms. Gillis came back for Round 2 of Zones of Regulation.
We learned about tools to help us get back in the green zone so we are ready to do our best learning!
Thank you, Guest Reader, for visiting!
We had an incredible opportunity to teach students in Mrs. Comitor's class how to use Prodigy.
It was incredible to see friends in our class lead the way!
